Signage at the Labour Party Conference 2017

Barrow Signs were delighted to be invited recently by an Events Management Company to pitch for the supply and installation of signage for a major Conference.  We are happy to report that our proposal was successful, and it emerged that that the event we had pitched for was the 2017 Labour Party National Conference that was held this weekend at Clayton Whites Hotel in Wexford town.  

The project featured several elements including outdoor signage, window decals, internal signage and branding for fixtures.  

Firstly we made, fitted and recovered after the event large 2.4m x 1.2m corriboard signs with a welcome message to delegates from Party Leader Brendan Howlin.  These were positioned on the approach roads to Wexford town.

At the venue, Clayton Whites Hotel in Wexford, one of the biggest challenges we faced was to install 3.5m x 1.2m temporary vinyl graphic on a circular panel above the revolving door.

Barrow Signs also made up internal signage that extended to directional signage and wrap around branding for the table on stage and various other fixtures that was used on set including the podium panel, all of these featured extensively on social media and on television broadcasts.  As the signage was on a television set it was critical that it was finished with a matt laminate in order to avoid any reflection or glare from the lights.

The conference suite of Whites Hotel is on the first floor, outside the suite is a large balcony with full height windows, these windows provide excellent photograph opportunities for the delegates.  Our instruction here was to install on the external leaf reverse cut lettering at a height of approx 7 metres from ground level (which was shoulder height on the first floor) Labour Party branding and the conference message over seven windows spanning the width of the floor.

Barrow Signs are experienced in the supply and delivery of signage for commercial companies attending trade shows and exhibitions and undertake many of these events every year.  For many years they have been trying to enter the Conference supply business, however Conference Organisers tend to favour larger Dublin based sign companies.
