Working out! New signage and increasing gym memberships
Barrow Signs are delighted to have worked with progressive Curves franchisees Fionn and Roisin again, most recently http://www.barrowsigns.com made and installed signage at their latest gym in Galway.
Situated in the busy Terryland Shopping Centre, closer to Galway city centre, their new premises occupies a first floor location. Barrow Signs made the external and internal signage. The overhead sign was CNC cut from foamex, while the signage covering the roller shutter and adjacent to the door was manufactured from composite aluminium. This project also included a second set of raised lettering fitted inside the gym, this acts as a backdrop when taking picutres for use on social media.
Again it is demonstrated that quality of the front of house presentation HAS A DIRECT LINK to the increase in footfall, leading to an improvement in the performance of the businesses bottom line.
Barrow Signs originally made and installed the signs for the Curves Gym in Kilkenny and Gorey in 2016, however this gym was forced to move in late 2018 after a fire in an adjacent shop unit. Fionn and Roisin quickly secured a new premises in Esmonde Street in Gorey, Barrow Signs were able to salvage some of the signage that escaped any fire damage and refit it in at the new location. The Esmonde Street location also allowed for a degree of creativity, the gym was formally a boutique and before that a wine bar. The front elevation has a cold stone front which is laid out in an unusual formation from the eave level down.
In this case, Barrow Signs coated foamex panels in the Curves corporate colours and fixed them to the stone to create this high impact shop front. The Curves lettering is also manufactures from CNC cut foamex while the smaller lettering is in computer cut vinyl. Given the locations former uses there is significant glass frontage, which is not ideal for a ladies gym! Barrow Signs covered the glass windows and doors with a privacy film (manifestation) with a gentle curving aspect, the graphics are externally applied.
Since relocating gym membership is significantly ahead of numbers at the former location, despite not having off-street parking. This increase in membership is due to good management and procedures in place and also the quality of the design and finish of the store front.
As a design and advisory company, Barrow Signs can point to this and many other projects they have completed where there is hard evidence to support the claim that the quality of the front of house presentation HAS A DIRECT LINK to the increase in footfall, leading to an improvement in the performance of the businesses bottom line.
